European Commission recognizes concrete results of judicial reforms

The European Commission's 2026 report notes positive achievements in the judiciary and recognizes progress in improving the legal and institutional framework in line with European standards.

Among the more significant achievements are the progress in the implementation of the Judicial Reform Strategy 2024–2028, the adoption of the new Law on the Judicial Council, which largely addresses the recommendations of the Venice Commission, as well as the adoption of the new Law on the Council of Public Prosecutors.

The Report also notes the adoption of the laws on the salaries of judges and public prosecutors, the new Law on Civil Procedure, the progress in the preparation of the Roadmap for the Rule of Law, as well as the general alignment of the legal framework on fundamental rights with European standards.

For the Ministry of Justice, these assessments represent confirmation of the achieved results, but also an additional obligation to continue the reforms. Particular attention in the coming period will be paid to the consistent implementation of legal solutions and the fulfillment of the recommendations of the European Commission.

The Ministry emphasizes that the true success of the reforms is not measured only through the laws adopted, but also through their impact on the functioning of institutions and the exercise of citizens' rights.

The goal remains to build an independent, professional, transparent and efficient judicial system, in which the law applies equally to all, and the trust of citizens is built through concrete results.
