The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, held a meeting with the Ambassador of France, H.E. Christophe Le Rigoleur, and it was discussed about the cooperation between the two countries in the field of justice, projects and the reform agenda.
H.E. Rigoleur welcomed the reform Minister's plans and expressed France's willingness to help in all processes with different assistance, including expert assistance, in order to prepare for membership in the European Union.
In that direction, Minister Filkov informed that from September 16, 2024, the engagement of a French expert, Ms.Cecilia Maronier, who has extensive experience in the judicial field, began. We have provided all the prerequisites for its smooth operation.
The cooperation with the liaison judge in Belgrade and the internal security attaché in Skopje, who with their activities help in the implementation of the reforms, was highlighted as particularly significant.
It was also discussed about the legislative agenda of the Ministry of Justice, the announcements for the start of public debates on the Proposed Amendments to the Laws on the Judicial Council and the Public Prosecutor's Office, as well as on the Development Sectoral Strategy for the Judiciary (2024-2028).
Filkov and Rigoleur committed to deepening cooperation in the coming period and strengthening bilateral relations.
