The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, announced that he signed the requests for the extradition of Alil Demiri and Afrim Ismailovic, both sentenced to life in the "Monstrum (Monster)" case for the five-fold murder at the Smilkovo Lake. The requests have already been submitted to the Ministry of Justice of Kosovo and their response is awaited.
The last time extradition was requested was in 2018. This was preceded by requests to the Republic of Kosovo for these extraditions on several occasions, but all were rejected.
On 08.10.2021, a notification was received from the Ministry of Justice of Kosovo that the extradition for Ismailović is denied, and regarding Demiri, there is still no answer. In the proceedings, everything that was requested from the Kosovo authorities has already been submitted.
After 6 years, their extradition is requested again.
