The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, met the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, H.E. Matthew Lawson, at which they discussed bilateral cooperation, support for justice reform projects, the fight against organized crime and the realization of strategic goals for full membership in the EU.
Minister Filkov pointed out that there is a long and difficult road ahead for the implementation of reforms in the Judicial Council, the Council of Public Prosecutors and the Academy of Judges and Public Prosecutors, with the aim of restoring citizens' trust in justice.
Ambassador Lawson expressed readiness for expert assistance to scan the situation and deepen cooperation to strengthen the country's capacities in critical areas.
The United Kingdom remains our greatest strategic partner, including membership in the NATO Alliance and deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
