The representatives of the Presidency and the European Commission are informed about the current EU initiatives related to the protection of the rights of migrant children, as well as about the possibilities for alternatives to detention for minors.
Within the framework of the session for justice, more important topics were discussed in two segments:
In the first part, the progress in judicial training and digitalization of the judiciary was presented, while the importance of improving digital tools and the potential of artificial intelligence in court proceedings was emphasized.
In the second part, the measures for the protection of democracy and the role of civil society were reviewed, with special reference to the concept of the European Shield for Democracy and the building of resilient democratic systems.
At the end of the session, the European Commission gave an overview of the new directive for the fight against corruption, as well as the Strategy for Fight Against Corruption, which is in the preparation phase.
In addition, the priorities of the upcoming Irish presidency with the Council of the European Union were also presented.
