Today we celebrate September 8 – The Independence Day of the Republic, one of the most significant dates in our modern history. Independence is a historic achievement, but above all it is a responsibility to build and strengthen the state every day. A strong state is a state in which the law is equal for all, justice is independent, and institutions are professional, responsible and trustworthy. Macedonia is a state of diverse citizens, but with a common future. Our ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity is not a weakness – it is a value and strength of our country.
As a Minister of Justice, I believe that the path to the European Union passes through the rule of law, sustainable reforms, respect for human rights, equality before the law and institutions that provide justice for all, without distinction. Europe was not built only with declarations. Europe was built with good laws, strong institutions and functioning justice. On this important day, let us continue together to build a fairer, stronger and European state. This country is our honor, our future and our love. Our true choice is to build, strengthen and elevate it for generations to come.
Happy September 8 –the Independence Day! Independence unites us. Justice equalizes us. Europe is our future. May our Macedonia always be blessed!
