On June 30 and July 1, 2025, in Geneva, the Republic of North Macedonia delegation led by members of the Ministry of Justice, participated in an interactive dialogue with the UN Human Rights Committee, regarding the Fourth Periodic Report under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The delegation was led by Nikola Prokopenko, State Counselor for Criminal Legislation, who highlighted the main reforms in the justice sector:
- The Reform Strategy 2017–2022 has been implemented
- A new Strategy 2024–2028 has been adopted
- Focus on the fight against corruption, gender equality, protection from discrimination and the rights of persons with disabilities
Mr. Prokopenko emphasized:
"We are building a more transparent, efficient and accountable justice system, in line with international standards."
