State Secretary Dajanco Eftimov attended the round table organized by the Council of Europe in Skopje where the recommendations in the Report of the Committee for Protection against Torture were discussed. In his address, Eftimov referred to the problems faced by prison institutions and the necessity of reforms in order to enable the resocialization and rehabilitation of convicted persons.
"The situation is serious and we are aware that a great deal of effort and dedication is required. We must establish justice and legal security, show that we have values, that we are worthy of a country, and that we are all ready to build a better future for our country together. Reforms in the prison system are more than necessary and the Ministry of Justice and I, as Secretary of State, are following with great attention all the observations of the Committee on Protection against Torture noted in the Reports, because they are necessary corrective in our pursuit of achieving the developed systems of the European countries", said Eftimov.
The State Secretary, Dajancho Eftimov, said that the noted remarks in the Report from the Committee for Protection against Torture are taken very seriously and in the future, work will be done to remove them.
"Our work is just beginning and we must be as dedicated as possible, because the future depends on us. We will not lie to ourselves that it will be easy. It won't be easy. Maturity and serious commitment are expected of us. Let's stick to the development plan and fight sincerely, honestly andresponsibly - then success will be inevitable and changes will be visible", said Eftimov.
