The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, had a meeting with the President of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), Alan Mitchell and the Vice-Governor of the Development Bank at the Council of Europe, Tomas Bocek

It was discussed at the meeting about the established conditions in the prisons and the needs to improve the material conditions, infrastructure, health care of the imprisoned and detained inmates, as well as the finalization of the project for the reconstruction of penal institutions.

The importance of promoting the human rights of imprisoned and detained inmates was emphasized.

The Ministry of Justice, in cooperation with the Directorate for Enforcement of Sanctions, continues to actively work on improving conditions in prisons, strengthening regular communication and coordination between the relevant institutions.
