The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, met with the Head of the EU Delegation in the Republic of North Macedonia, Michalis Rokas.
It was discussed about the legislative agenda, the planned reform activities in the judiciary, the Judicial Council, the Development Sector Strategy for the judiciary 2024-2028, the Criminal Code, the digitization of the judiciary, European integration processes, as well as the fight against corruption.
Minister Filkov emphasized the determination that the reform agenda is a priority of the state, while EU support remains crucial for the country's stability in the hope of continuing bilateral cooperation in the spirit of shared values.
Ambassador Rokas pointed out that the expansion of the European Union is again high on the agenda and the rule of law is the most important in the context of European integration. He expressed readiness to support the capacities of the Ministry of Justice, and also announced the visit of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to North Macedonia, on October 24, 2024.
