Electoral reforms enter final phase

The Working Group for Reforms in Electoral Legislation held its seventh session today, at which the proposals, opinions and comments submitted by the competent institutions, political parties, civil society organizations and other stakeholders in the process of preparing the amendments to the Electoral Code were reviewed and analyzed.

It was confirmed at this session that progress made so far in harmonizing the legal solutions with the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, with the members of the Working Group conducting an intensive and constructive discussion on several issues that directly affect the transparency, integrity and credibility of the electoral process.

The Ministry of Justice highlights the dedication and active participation of all members of the Working Group and assesses that the process is taking place in the spirit of dialogue, professionalism and shared responsibility for advancing democratic standards in the country.
The reforms in the electoral legislation represent an important step towards strengthening institutional trust and ensuring fair, free and democratic elections in accordance with European standards and international recommendations.
The next session is scheduled for June 12, after which the legal amendments will be finalized and submitted for further procedure.
