At the meeting, opinions and information were exchanged about the previous cooperation of the Ministry of Justice with the UNHCR, as well as the institutional and material support as a key to strengthening the capacities for finding sustainable solutions for people in vulnerable situations.
It has been agreed that joint activities will be undertaken in the coming period, such as - to visit the Acceptance Transit Center in Gevgelija in order to provide migrants/refugees with easier and unhindered access to the procedure for recognizing the right to asylum.
Gabriel Gualano de Godoy expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the Ministry of Justice for the support and coordination of the process for the systemic and permanent solution to the decades-long problem of approximately 700 people in our country who were previously not registered in the birth register, and after doing so, it made us the first country in Europe and the second country in the world to solve the problem of unregistered persons.
Bilateral cooperation and the implementation of projects will continue in the coming period.
