At today's constituent session of the working group on electoral legislation reforms, the members of the working group unanimously elected the Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, as the chairman of this body. The session discussed the Rules of Procedure and the working group's working methods. The next session is scheduled for March 23, and the members of the working group will be provided with the text of the amendments to the Electoral Code, which will be a working document prepared by the Ministry of Justice in June 2025, which incorporates the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations. The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, stated that the goal is to build a stable, credible and inclusive electoral system, in line with European standards and good international practices.
"This process requires political maturity, dialogue and consensus. I expect a constructive debate and active participation from all members, because reforms in electoral legislation are of essential importance for the democratic development of the country and strengthening citizens' trust in the electoral process”, said Filkov. The Ministry of Justice remains fully committed to a transparent and efficient process, with clear dynamics and concrete results in the period ahead.
