Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, had a working meeting with the President of the State Election Commission, Bojan Maricic, the Vice President of the SEC Abdush Demiri and the member of the Commission, Angelco Ristov.
It was discussed at the meeting about the reforms in the electoral legislation, as well as the importance of close institutional cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the State Election Commission in the process of preparing the legal amendments.
The possibilities for improving the existing legal framework, strengthening the transparency and efficiency of the electoral process, as well as harmonizing the electoral legislation with modern democratic standards were also discussed.
The representatives of the SEC announced that in the coming period they will submit their proposals and suggestions, which will be considered by the working group formed to prepare the reforms in the electoral legislation.
Cooperation between institutions is key to creating a stable, transparent and reliable electoral system, in the interest of citizens and democratic processes in the country.
