The Minister of Justice met with the President of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia, Mladen Čadikovski, and the President of the European Federation of Journalists, Ricardo Gutiérrez

The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, met with the President of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia, Mladen Čadikovski, and the President of the European Federation of Journalists, Ricardo Gutiérrez.

The topic of the conversation was the challenges related to the slapp lawsuits and the need to amend the Electoral Code in order to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.

The President of the AJM, Mladen Čadikovski, stressed that these lawsuits pose a threat to freedom of expression and the work of the media and requested that measures be taken to prevent them from the aspect of legal regulation, education of judges and public prosecutors.

The Ministry of Justice remains committed to the protection of freedom of expression and the advancement of democratic processes, and cooperation with the Association of Journalists will continue in the coming period.
