The Minister of Justice, Jeton Shasivari, and his Albanian colleague, Mr. Toni Gogu, held a bilateral meeting in Istanbul, where they are participating in the International Justice Summit.
The two countries, as two neighboring countries with a common European perspective, have numerous opportunities for mutual support in the processes of reforming and modernizing the justice systems.
It was emphasized during the conversation, the importance of direct institutional communication, sharing experiences and good practices, as well as the need for reform processes to result in more efficient and accessible justice for citizens.
Special attention was paid to the European agenda of the two countries and the opportunities for mutual support in meeting standards in the area of the rule of law.
The meeting confirmed the readiness to further develop cooperation between the two ministries, with an emphasis on specific initiatives and common institutional interests.
