The Minister of Justice, Jeton Shasivari, had a working meeting today with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Petra Drexler, at which excellent bilateral cooperation in the areas of the judiciary, the rule of law and reform processes was confirmed.
At the meeting, it was assessed that Germany is one of the most important partners of the Ministry of Justice in the field of international legal assistance and reforms in the judiciary.
In the process of preparing the new Criminal Code, in cooperation with the IRZ - the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation, expert opinions were prepared by top university professors, which cover several key areas of contemporary criminal law.

The contribution of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) was emphasized at the meeting in the preparation of the Law on the Office for Property Recovery and the Law for Management of Confiscated Property, Profits and Confiscated Items in Criminal and Misdemeanor Proceedings.

Shasivari and Drexler confirm their joint commitment to the further development of cooperation, exchange of expertise and support for reform processes, with the aim of strengthening the rule of law and bringing our judicial system closer to European standards.
