Deepening of cooperation with the Kingdom of Sweden in judicial reforms, the rule of law and European integration, were the topics of today's meeting between the Minister of Justice Jeton Shasivari and the Ambassador of Sweden to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Ola Sohlström.
Minister Shasivari expressed his gratitude for the continued support of Sweden, especially through UNOPS and the engagement of experts, which contributes to strengthening institutional capacities and harmonizing legislation with European standards.
"Sweden is our important partner in the reform process. I believe that through expertise, exchange of experiences and concrete support we can further advance institutions and deliver better services to citizens," emphasized Minister Shasivari.
The ongoing reforms related to Cluster 1 – Fundamental Values, were reviewed at the meeting, as well as the commitments from the Reform Agenda in the area of the rule of law. The possibilities for new joint initiatives were also discussed, especially in the digitalization of the judiciary, access to justice, human rights and the fight against corruption and organized crime. International legal assistance between the two countries is proceeding smoothly, with no open issues that would hinder cooperation.
