The Minister of Justice, Jeton Shasivari, had a working meeting today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to North Macedonia, H.E. Fatih Ulusoy, at which the joint decision was confirmed for the further improvement of bilateral cooperation in the field of justice and support for reform processes.
It was discussed about reforms in the judiciary, the exchange of experiences and good practices, as well as the implementation of a new study visit, specialized trainings and joint activities between the judicial institutions of the two countries.
"Strong international partnership is one of the key prerequisites for successful and sustainable reforms in the judiciary. Turkey is our important partner, and the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices will contribute to a more efficient, transparent and modern judicial system", said Minister Shasivari.
The successful cooperation between the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors and the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA) was emphasized at the meeting, with the joint readiness to further deepen it through organizing of international and bilateral conferences, study visits and training programs for judges, public prosecutors and other representatives of judicial institutions.
The Program for exchange of experiences in the field of computer crime, which was realized within the framework of the Project for Computer Crime of the Council of Europe, when the Ministry of Justice hosted a representative of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, was highlighted as particularly important.
In the framework of the continuation of the good cooperation between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of North Macedonia, on behalf of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, Akın Gürlek, the Minister of Justice, Jeton Shasivari, was invited to participate in the international summit "The Future of Justice", which will be held in Istanbul, on October 8 and 9.
This important international event will be attended by ministers of justice from several countries, high government officials, experts, professors and representatives from the judicial sector, with the aim of exchanging experiences and ideas for the advancement of justice and the rule of law.
The invitation is a proof of friendship and partnership between the two countries and commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation.
Minister Shasivari and Ambassador Ulusoy agreed that further intensification of cooperation is necessary, with the aim of building a modern, efficient and independent judicial system, through concrete projects, institutional connection and continuous exchange of professional experiences.
