Shasivari – Sommer: Support from Switzerland for Judicial Reforms

Minister of Justice Jeton Shasivari held a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Christoph Sommer.
Minister Shasivari emphasized that the Ministry of Justice is working on creating a more efficient and functional judicial system in which citizens will have greater trust and confidence in institutions. For the successful implementation of reforms, it is particularly important to draw on the experiences of countries with established good practices in the field of the rule of law.
Opportunities for further cooperation with Switzerland were also addressed at the meeting, particularly through project support, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and capacity-building for institutions.
Ambassador Sommer presented the Swiss Cooperation Program with our country, as well as possibilities for its expansion into areas related to reform and institutional development. Readiness was expressed to continue the partnership and support initiatives that contribute to strengthening the rule of law.
Cooperation between the two countries to date serves as a solid foundation for new joint activities.
The Ministry of Justice will continue to build open cooperation with international partners so that the experience and support from European countries are translated into concrete improvements in institutional performance and services for citizens.
