The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, participated in the Ministerial Forum for Justice and Internal Affairs of the EU - Western Balkans in Sarajevo, in the panel dedicated to the topics "Strengthening the government of the rule of law through judicial reform and the fight against corruption".
In his address, Minister Filkov emphasized the commitment of the Government to take decisive steps to strengthen the independence, integrity and efficiency of the judiciary.
Essential reforms are being carried out, in accordance with European standards and recommendations of GREKO, the European Commission and the Venice Commission.
- New laws for the Judicial Council, courts, court service and salaries for judges and prosecutors will strengthen the independence and resilience of the judiciary.
- The Council for monitoring reforms and the Council for digitization in the judiciary were formed - for greater efficiency, transparency and access to justice.
- The system of integrity and supervision over the public sector is being strengthened, and at the same time, regional and international cooperation in this area is being improved.
Our determination is clear - to build a community based on equality, justice and dignity for every citizen.
