Public debate for the Draft Law on Judicial Service and for the Public Prosecutor's Service

A public debate was held today in the Parliament on the Draft Law on Judicial Service and the Public Prosecutor's Service, with the active participation of experts, representatives of the judicial and public prosecutor's services, institutions, trade unions and other interested parties.
At the discussions, the proposed legal solutions and key changes aimed at improving the status of judicial and public prosecutor's officers, establishing a more efficient system for recruitment and advancement, strengthening the professionalism and independence of the services, as well as ensuring good conditions for work and career development were reviewed.
The proposed solutions are the result of continuous coordination and harmonization with all competent institutions. The Draft Laws have been fully agreed with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Public Administration and the Secretariat for Legislation, taking into account their comments and proposals with the aim of ensuring quality, applicable and financially sustainable legal solutions.
The participants had the opportunity to share their opinions, suggestions and notes, with the aim of creating quality legal solutions that will contribute to a more efficient judicial and public prosecutor's service and better services for citizens.
Open dialogue and involvement of the professional public are key to building a strong, professional and independent judicial system.
