The Minister of Justice, Igor Filkov, had a meeting with Marcia Pallota, Project Officer from the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of North Macedonia and the team from the "EU Support for the Rule of Law" project. This will encourage the trust of citizens through the establishment of a justice system that will be the foundation of a just society.
The project provides the necessary expert support to the Ministry for the implementation and monitoring of the Sectoral Development Strategy for the Judiciary 2024-2028, as well as other activities aimed at improving legal solutions.
It is planned to start with public debates on the Law on the Judicial Council and the Law on Public Prosecution during the next month.
The work of the Strategy Monitoring Council will also be reactivated. To improve the efficiency of the judicial system and anti-corruption policy, it will be necessary to advance digitalization and strengthen cooperation between law enforcement authorities and judicial authorities.
All this will help our country build a better legal system, progress towards EU integration and ensure that the reforms are sustainable in the long term.
