New dynamics in reforms with the EU as a strategic partner

The Minister of Justice, Jeton Shasivari, and the Deputy Minister of Justice, Alen Dereban, held a meeting with the Ambassador and the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of North Macedonia, Mihalis Rokas, during which they discussed the current reform processes in the judiciary and the progress of our country in the European integration process.
Minister Shasivari emphasized the commitment of the Ministry of Justice to the implementation of reforms in accordance with the recommendations of the European Commission, with a special emphasis on the rule of law and the fulfillment of obligations from the Reform Agenda and the "Fundamental Values" Cluster.
It was also discussed at the meeting about the implementation of the Development Sectoral Strategy for the Judiciary 2024-2028, as well as the activities that are being implemented with the support of the European Union through the IPA project for strengthening the judicial system and its digitalization.
Gratitude was expressed for the continuous support from the European Union in the implementation of the reforms, which has a significant role in strengthening the institutions, improving the rule of law and accelerating the European integration of the Republic of North Macedonia. In that direction, the need for expert assistance from the European Union in the reform of the criminal legislation was highlighted.
At the meeting, the joint commitment to the continuation of partnership cooperation and the intensification of reform processes in the judiciary in the direction of improving its functional independence in accordance with European standards and the reform priorities of our country, was confirmed.
