The Draft Law on Judicial Service has been prepared and published on ENER, and should be adopted by June 2025

The Ministry of Justice has begun drafting this law, which incorporates the recommendations of several domestic and international reports and documents regarding the need to improve the status of the judicial service, contained in the Strategy for Human Resources in the Judicial Service and the recommendations from the Reform Agenda.

In order to ensure the independence of the judiciary, the Draft Law provides for the exclusion of judicial officers from administrative officers, regulating the rights and status of employees in the judicial service.

A system for managing the performance of judicial officers, work goals and tasks, determining the individual professional development plan, as well as a procedure for assessing the performance of the judicial officer is being established.

The provisions on the amount of salary are being intervened in order to attract, retain and motivate employees; recruiting high-quality candidates for appropriate jobs and conducting selection using efficient and transparent tools.

This reform is of crucial importance for motivating employees who should be dedicated to providing high-quality public services.
This legal solution meets the demands of the unions and their long-standing requests.

All interested parties have the opportunity to provide their comments, proposals and suggestions on the Draft Law on Judicial Service, which according to the reform agenda should be adopted by June 2025.
