Shasivari: Stronger partnership with Austria for modern and efficient justice

The Minister of Justice, Jeton Shasivari, had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, H.E. Martin Pamer, at which the possibilities for further improvement of relations and partnership between the two countries in the field of justice were discussed.
Cooperation with Austria should not be seen only as bilateral legal assistance, but as a partnership for modernization of the justice system, strengthening institutions and accelerating our European integration.
In the coming period, it is expected to launch specific activities in several agreed areas of mutual interest, in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation signed three years ago by the Ministries of Justice of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Austria. The activities will include strengthening the rule of law, reforms in civil and criminal law, the fight against corruption and organized crime, as well as the digitalization of the judiciary.
Minister Shasivari emphasized that Austrian experience and expertise can be particularly useful in judicial reform, improving the efficiency of justice and international legal assistance, contributing to the creation of a more efficient, transparent and modern judicial system.
